On Monarchy

“Don’t they, like, have a king there?” asked Brielle, the art student. “I don’t see how it’s fair that a king gets to run the government. Nobody elected him.”

“Hereditary monarchy,” said Mr. Magundi, “has at least this advantage over other forms of government: that it places power in the hands of someone who has not spent his whole life grasping for it.”
